I enter Rajshahi by the Godagari Upazila of the district. Watching a signboard of Roads Department I understood that I enter in this district. Taking a picture under the signboard I kept cycling. Next I stopped at the UNO office of Godagari on the right side of the right from my route. I enter there with the intension to phone NDC of Rajshahi. The UNO of this Upazila was not there. So, I met the staffs and they accept me gladly and later when he came I talked with him, Mr. Howlader. From there I phone the NDC of Rajshahi and informed that the NDC of Chapai has not phoned yet. Then I went to the upstair of the office and met Engineer of LGED Mr. Shariful Alam. I talked with him a lot and took pictures of them too. Leaving their office I start again before 5 PM. Took some snacks and lot pictures on the way. When I crossed the milestone of Rajshahi 5 KM away I saw the signboard of a shrine at the right side from highway. I stopped my cycle and asked few people sitting at a tea-stall about the shrine. I heard about it at Dhaka and now I was trying confirm from the local people that this is the shrine I heard before. They confirmed me and start cycling again. At 8 o'clock I enter the Rajshahi Town. Then I phoned Mostofa Bhai (District Representative of Prothom Alo) and Rejaul Bhai of BADC (Friend of Hasan Bhai). Mostofa Bhai told me to meet him at press club and Rejaul Bhai told me to phone again after getting close to Cantoment Area or the area called "Uposhohor". I went to a press club and understood that it is not the one Mostofa Bhai mentioned. Name of this press club was "City Press Club". Then I went to the press club he mentioned and met him. He told me that he will distribute my news to other district representatives too. Then I came to the circuit house and phoned NDC. I told him about my requirement and he asked to meet me at morning. Then I phoned Rejaul Bhai from a medicine store. He gave me the address and guidance to reach his house. Even the shopkeeper of that medicine store guided me briefly. I reached his residence after 10:30 PM. First I took a little rest and then freshing myself Rejaul Bhai, his room-mate cum colligue sat for the supper with me. After eating they went to another room and left a room for me to sleep with privacy. After 6:30 AM I woke up and find that they were still sleeping. So, I keep laying on the bed. Later when they woke up we sat, caht and watched TV. Soon the maid came to cook the breakfast and they left the room for (I can't remember who was the teacher and who was student.) practicing Honda ride. After they came back we three went to a tea-stall for tea and biscuits. Returning to the room we sat to eat. Then they prepare themselves to go to office. At last we came out and took a picture of us all. Then they went to the office and I reached the "Nagar Bhaban" (office of the "Rajshahi City Corporation"). The Mayor Mr. Minu was not there and even the person after the Mayor was not there too. So, I asked them who was after him and met that person (Head Revenue Officer). He received me gladly and encourage me so much that I was really satisfied to visit this office. He asked his secretary to prepare a letter of appriciation for me. When his secretary prepared it he changed it with with his own emotion and appreciation. I would say this was the best letter I had in my whole tour of cycling because of it's language. Anyway, after talking to him for a while I took a pic outside the room of Mayor and outside of the building. Then I left that office at 11:30 AM. Reaching DC office I met NDC. He prepared and gave me the letter very first. Then I came out of the DC office and took enough pics. Then I went to that shrine and ate "Bread of Kalai" and took pic. Then I reached the office of District Commissioner but he was not at office. Then I went to the Zoo and took pic. Then to the office of Ansar & VDP to meet Mr. Kamaruzzaman (He was a friend of Mr. Said of Naogaon) Assistant Adjutant of this district. After leaving him I went to a place (Shrine) very personal to my heart. Then I went to the press club again and met Mostofa Bhai (Anu Mostofa). I gave him a copy of my press release and all my pictures. Then I went to the bus terminal to get a cycle technician as it had some problem. The technician told me that my tube had a leak in it. Fixing it I went to find a hotel at the bus stand. I was very happy to find it. Later I left this place and cycled towards my next district at 8 PM. I stopped at 9:10 PM to eat something in the area of "Biraldaha Shrine". Starting at 9:15 PM I enter the boundary of Natore District at 10:10 PM. |
