After crossing the bridge I took a pic of mine and keep going. At 5 o'clock I reached the bus terminal of Syedpur. The district headquarter was still far away and that's why I restrict myself from visiting the Syedpur Airport and the Railway Station. Taking some picture I finished my prayer. Then went straight till "WAPDA Mour". I took a few more pic here. and took the right turn to reach the town. Then I stop at the starting point of Sadar Upazila of the district and took a pic. Later I saw the EPZ-UTTARA and took pic of it. After the EPZ I crossed a textile mill too. I perform my prayer of Magrib 6 KM away from the town. It was nearly 7 o'clock when I left that mosque. I was cycling in dark. Well, not totally dark due to the moonlight upon which I saw the welcome gate of the town "Shaheed Bashar Toron". The road divided in two and I asked people about the location of circuit house. They told me that I can go to there by both ways but the road towards right will take me faster before the other. So, I took that path of right and upon reaching there I asked the staffs if their NDC told them about any cyclist. They replied negative. I had an idea that Rangpur NDC talked about me with the NDC of Nilphamari and it will be easy to meet him. So, I talked with the staffs of circuit house and seek Mr. Shamsul, the staff of this circuit house. He was a friend of Mr. Shamsul of Rangpur Circuit House. Mr. Shamsul was not there on that time. Then I took the location of residence of DC and went there. But the staffs of his house told me that he does not meet anyone at night. From there I went to Press Club and meet the district representatives of "Daily Manavzamin" and "Daily Bhorer Kagoj". They welcomed me gladly and asked me to tell them about my todays diary. Later they phone to NDC by themselves. But NDC denied to accommodate me even after their request. They told me that none of this district is pleased upon this NDC as his type is a bit different due to his political view. They told me to pass my night at "Hotel Navana" which was very known to them. I was trying to contact NDC of Rangpur and meanwhile Mr. Shamsul of Rangpur phoned me. He told me to contact Shamsul of Nilphamari by phone. He told me that there is a phone booth in front of circuit house. I should go over there and phone Shamsul from there as his residence was nearby to that booth. Then the reporters told me to contact Mr. Shamsul as NDC might not refuse his own staff. They also tols me that someone who stays at Press-Club will wait for me. If I will return he will escort me to the Hotel Navana as they have arranged a room for me over there. After taking my photo the reporters left the Press Club and I came out to go to contact him. But I find there was some problem in my cycle and I had to pull it till there. When I reached that phone booth I asked the shopkeeper to give me the phone. But watching my cycle, luggage and listening the number I was going to phone the shopkeeper introduced himself as Mr. Shamsul. He told me that his friend phoned him from Rangpur and he was waiting for me. He listened to everything and phoned his friend Shamsul that he met me. Then he went to circuit house and asked his fellow staffs if they tried their best to NDC for me or not. They told him that after talking to me they liked me very much. For this reason they had even prepared a room for me and requested him as polite as possible. But the NDC told them in rudely not to request in this subject anymore. So, Shamsul bhai asked the ADM about it but failed. ADM told Shamsul Bhai that if NDC had denied all of them previously then there is no use to request this person again. Then I told him not to worry about me and I would go to the press club. Before going there I phoned the NDC of Rangpur and told him everything shamsul bhai also told him that there is vacant room to provide in their circuit house. The NDC of Rangpur told me to wait there as he will phone again to the NDC for me. But after few minutes he phoned back and said that NDC of Nilphamari politely refused him. This NDC said that he had denied his district's reporters and his own staffs about me, but now if the NDC will ask him to give me accommodation then it will be a prestige issue for him. For this reason he asked to forgive him for not providing the accommodation. Then I went back to the press club after 11:30 PM. Mosharraf Bhai was there waiting for me. He told me that all the restaurants were closed by that time and he will bring some dry food for me if I have no problem. So, I decide to stay at press club instead of hotel. Then I download all the photos from my camera to pen drive with their PC. I also showed him lots of pictures of the tour and he was very happy to get me as their guest. Late at night I slept and Mosharraf Bhai provide the coil for mosquitoes. Next morning took my breakfast with Mosharraf Bhai. He brought the for me before I woke up. Then he walked with me to show the town. At 9 o'clock we went to the house of Tariq, another staff of press club. Mosharraf Bhai went to his house and I stayed with Tariq. He forced me for breakfast but I couldn't as I was full. So he asked me to have something light while he finished his breakfast. Then we went to a shop nearby to fix my cycle. He took his nephew Tanim with him. The cycle make Farid discovered that the whole tube teared off and I had to replace it. So, I bought a new one Tariq kept the old tube as a souvenir. Then I left him for DC office and met the DC. he did not waste time to give it. Then I cycled back to the gate of the town I passed at night. Taking a pic I came back and also take picture of the Jail from the road. Then I seek for Shamsul Bhai. I went to his house and told him that I was leaving for Panchagarh. He asked me to finish my lunch with him and express his sympathy as he could not help me in any way. So, we eat together at a hotel and then I went to Tariq's house to say him goodbye. He wrote all the names of those districts which I had toured with my previous tubes as he was keeping it. He also took some pic from my camera. Then I left him and keep going according to his direction. On my way, I saw the Rail Station of Nilphamari. I took some pic over there. As soon as I left the station the cycle got leak again. I stopped and find that somehow it got leak. I also find that the tyre of the cycle was faded very badly at a place that it become thin like soft leather. I phoned to Dhaka and told my peoples to send me some money but they told me that they have a bad news for me. They informed me that one of my dearest relative is very sick and should be hospitalized at any moment. Then I reached "Nilshagar" at 5 o'clock. Took some picture over here. It was just a plain landscape but maybe it become attractive when migrating birds fill the whole area at seasons. Leaving this place I headed for Debiganj Upazila and took a picture at the starting point of it. This was not only the entrance of Debiganj Upazila but also the entrance of Panchagarh District too. |
