As I told you that the cycling was very boring for us today. All of us were tired, worried about Angela's health and still thinking about the Madaripur town and their administration. Even we did not stop anywhere to eat something extra. Rana told me that within two or three days he will be out of money. We entered at Madaripur through Kalkini Upazila. It was about evening, I saw the highway divided in two. I told my team to stop at that point. Soon we saw a bus from our opposite side coming towards us and took the other turn. There was a sign in the bus written "Dhaka-Madaripur". To be sure I asked a pedestrian if that was the way towards Madaripur or not. He assured me that we are only about five miles away from main town of this district and already we are in Madaripur Sadar Upazila. More than half an hour we saw the DC office at the right side of our way. We entered their but informed that everyone left the office. So, we asked about the location of the Circuit House. Then we cycle towards it. We find only some staffs over there and they were ready to co-operate us only by giving the location of NDC's residence, neither his phone number nor contacting NDC by themselves own. The whole team was tired and wanted to sit for a while at dining room till I will be back with any result. But the staffs of the circuit house politely told us that they cannot allow us to stay within the complex unless they were permitted by any official. So, we came out from there and at main road we saw a Chotpoti-wala selling it from a cart with a good sitting capacity beside a lake. I told my team to have Chotpoti and rest on that area. Then I went to the house of NDC and meet him. After listening everything he told me that he has problem about giving us accommodation at circuit house but no problem about any other things. He also wanted to see our whole team before giving us any letter. I took some time to bring my team and return at that Chotpoti cart. Angela was not feeling well. I informed them everything about my conversation with NDC and discussed about lots of possibilities. I eat Chotpoti and left that area with my team for the residence of NDC. Watching us all he handed me over the paper gladly. Then I requested him to do something about keeping our cycles at his circuit house. Because we have decided to take rest for two days and we would like to go to Dhaka by bus. Rana and I need some more money, Angela should be checked under a good physician and all of us deserve a rest. So, if he can keep our cycle for two days we will leave Madaripur right now and will be back after two days to continue our cycling from here. He agreed with me and phoned his staffs at circuit house. We ran towards the circuit house, gave the cycles and its locks to the staffs. Soon we took two rickshaws for the bus terminal. On our way we crossed the NDC's house and managed four tickets of the last bus for that night towards Dhaka. After getting down from the bus we went the residence of NDC. He was accompanied by his wife and some other Magistrates. They were talking about some exam. He assured us that we can get our cycle anytime and wanted to know our next destination. He introduced me to them and I explained my route. When I told them that we will start for Shariatpur at morning he offered us to stay at circuit house for tonight. I thanked him and left his house. When we enter at circuit house the staffs over there showed us two rooms to stay and we get our cycles which were kept at downstairs. After that I went outside to get some foods for us. I went to the right side leaving the gate of circuit house. I walked a lot on a under construction road and then I find a few hotels but there was no rice. With only bread and vegetables we finished our supper. The restaurant owner told me that they have prepared less food due to rain and that's why the food finished earlier. After finishing the supper we slept faster than other nights. At morning I woke up and went to the restaurant of last night to buy some breakfast. We ate and came down to check our cycles. Soon we start our journey for the Shariatpur District. We set our target to reach there before lunch as it was not so far. But due to the rain of last night the roads were in very bad condition and we were unable to cycle faster. Finally we came to a ferry ghat after cycling for some times. This river's name was Arial Kha. Someone at ghat told me that we will enter at Shariatpur District after cycling a bit more at other side of the river. We waited a long time for other vehicles to be there and then we ride on ferry with them. Soon we start cycling at the other side of the river and we did not understand when we crossed the boundary of Madaripur. |
