I had to cross two boats there. The level of the water was very low. From that other part the road was nearly broken or no road at all. This situation lasts till "Thanahat". From Thanahat the road was a bit better. Soon I reached the Chilmari Upazila Complex. I thought I would say my prayer and took my lunch while I will charge the battery of camera from there. But I was unable to do so as they had no electricity. So, I left hat area faster and said my prayer farther from that point. Later I reached a area called "Bakerer Hat" of Ulipur. There I took my lunch keep on going. Thus I reached the Kurigram DC office at 4:30 PM. The DC was not there on in the office but upon meeting to NDC he arranged a room for me for one night. He told me that I should be at the residence of DC at night even he will be there upon that time. Then I left the office for circuit house but the polices on duty of the DC office asked me to give them some time before leaving. I was talking to them and saw NDC left the office. Then I went to the circuit house and finished my prayer of Magrib and talked with the district representative of Prothom Alo Mr. Shafi Khan by phone. He told me to meet him at his office. I left the circuit house to be there. On the way, I dropped at the residence of DC but it took me enough time to be free from there. The DC and NDC was watching the TV. As "Bangla Bhai" (a person behind the series bombing of Bangladesh at 2005) was captured and it was on the news everyone was interested to know about him. It was 8:15 PM when I was free from there after collecting the letter of DC. I phoned to Shafi Bhai but he left his office by that time and told me to meet him at morning. So, I roam around in the town and finished my supper at a restaurant. I came back to the circuit house at 10 o'clock and finished my nights prayer. After that recording the diary I went to sleep. Finishing my prayer and bath, I left the circuit house before 8:30 AM. Went to the heart of the town and took some pic. I looked for the newspaper but knew that the newspaper comes late in this district than to other districts. They arrive at 10 o'clock. At 10 I phone to Mr. Shafi and he told me that he wil be at his office within half an hour. He came before the time. I was there in his office for rest of the day sharing my eperience with the friends of "Bondhushava" andother reporters of that district. Shafi Bhai phoned them all to meet me at his office. Then he took me to his house for lunch and there I met his family members too. Later we came back to his office and he kept inviting various people to meet me at his office. He asked me to start cycling tomorrow. He managed a room at the circuit house again for tonight. After passing a long time finishing prayer of Magrib we left his office. I enter the "Moushumi Hotel & Restaurant" for supper but Shafi Bhai paid the bill. Going to circuit house I find that I got the same room where I stayed last night. After taking a bath I finished my prayer and start recording the diary. Very early in the morning I woke up with the sound of alarm. Finishing the prayer I find that the electricity gone. The sky was not clear till then. I was leaning against the bed and got sleepy again. I woke up next at 7 o'clock and left that place after half an hour. First I finished my breakfast and then I find that there was no air in the front wheel of my cycle. So, I pulled it towards a shop of technician at the bus stand (Nearby Shaheed Minar). It was a leak and fixing it I start cycling at 9 o'clock. Then I came to the point of going "Rajarhat and Rangpur". Here I took some pic and sat on a hotel for a cup of tea. There I chat with the cashier Rana at the hotel. Then start again and saw a few peacefull rally observing "International Women Day". The weather was very clear and it was feeling great to cycle. The roadside scenery was also beautiful. I also a huge garden probably prepared to serve commercial reason. Anyway, the garden was beautiful. Thus after an hour from the Shaheed Minar I came to the end of Kurigram District. I took pic over here. |
